Swimming Pool

The school has a beautiful, well equipped 25 x 25 sq. mts. swimming pool which is accessible by the students during their hobby classes under the supervision of the specialized swimming coaches, the class teachers as well as the pool guards.

 

Arjuna Ekagrachitta: The Shooting Range 

The Arjun Ekagrachitta Shooting Range was added to the cultural infrastructure in 2006. It is a specialized facility designed for the practice of shooting sports. The use of actual firearms is strictly prohibited.

Our instructors ensure the NCC cadets of the school get off to a safe, fun and educational start into their course. Below are just some of the subjects that are covered:

National Cadet Corps (NCC) Training

DDPS is the only public school in Ghaziabad having NCC as the integral part of its curriculum. Students above 13 years of age can join as junior cadets and students from class XI and above, can join the organization as senior cadets. 

 

The National Cadet Corps in India is a voluntary organization which recruits cadets from high schools, colleges and Universities all over India. The Cadets are given basic military training in small arms and parades. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

 

NCC inculcates in the youth a sense of nationalism and secular outlook that contributes towards the building of the nation. It also provides a platform for individual upliftment through the process of channelizing the energy of the youth in constructive pursuits. Besides giving thrill and excitement, NCC promotes camaraderie and resilience and hones cultural skills to preserve the cultural traditions and values of the society. It helps the youth to realize the intimate relationship between man and the community, between community and nature and their inter-dependability.

 

Library: Junior Section

DDPS has always laid great emphasis on inculcating the habit of reading in its students, right from the beginning. The Junior Section of the School Library is well-stocked with lots of books on all subjects ranging from dinosaurs to the Famous Five and the Math puzzles to the Amar Chitra Kathas. Each student is allowed to issue one book at a time, for a maximum period of 7 days.

 

The responsible librarians take great pleasure and pride in helping the children to choose the right books for themselves. For the children’s benefit, the Library also subscribes to children’s magazines such as Champak, Children’s Digest, and Junior Science Refresher. 

 

Therefore, the Junior Library helps to feed the eager minds of the young students, by giving them the right medium for knowledge and awareness, in the form of exciting and informative books and magazines.

 

Library: Senior Section

The Senior Section of the School Library has been instrumental in acquainting the students with facets of literature and knowledge.  The Senior Section is well-stocked with lots of books on all subjects ranging from Subject Refresher Books, Competitive Exams Preparatory Material to Novels by well renowned English & Hindi authors and magazines ranging from Competition Success to modern day magazines such as Femina. The objective of the Library staff has always been to inculcate and enhance reading habits among the students.

 

Bookshop & Uniform Counter

The school has a provision of supplying books, stationary material as well as uniforms to the students through the school bookshop & uniform counter. A single uniform is followed throughout the year. The intent of such a system is to minimize the burden on parents.

 

School Cafeteria

The school cafeteria supplies hygienic and high quality snacks at reasonable prices.
