Naming

The name Dehradun Public School comes from the fascination of the school’s revered founder, Late Shri Jaiprakash Bansal for the city of Dehradun and its educational environment where he was working as an engineer about 33 years back. After he retired from work and returned to his hometown, Ghaziabad, he decided to sow the seed called Dehradun Public School in this city in 1983. DDPS started with a humble beginning with just 10 rooms and 50 students. 28 years later, the legacy continues to flourish.
